Consistent with ignition&apos s continual commitment to be a fully sustainable marketing company, a group of ignitors has come together with the purpose of developing sustainable initiatives to implement into internal and external operations of our global business.
The G2, or Green Gurus, is comprised of five ignitors who have a passion for environmental causes, desire to see ignition move deeper in its sustainability leadership, and willingness to lead this initiative within the company. The G2 team (pictured top right) includes: Phil Disher, Production Manager for 2007's Blue Planet Planet Run, Melony Lewis, former program coordinator for Coca-Cola's Global Water Stewardship, Abby Hoefler, Senior Experiential Brand Manager and avid monitor of ignition recycling, April Sterba, former staffer of the German American Chamber of Commerce and
ignition&apos s current Office Manager, and Marianna Popp, former operations manager for the United Nations Foundation&apos s Nothing But Nets experiential program.
First, the team plans to work internally to calculate the company&apos s environmental footprint with consideration of past sustainability initiatives such as recycling programs in existence since 2006 and the recent office-wide transition to energy-efficient CFL bulbs. The hard metrics yielded from this rigorous evaluation will be used to identify gaps, determine objectives, and set measurable goals for the agency for years to come. Secondly, through the partnership and assistance of Brighter Planet (committed to helping people reduce and manage carbon footprints), the team will ensure ignition continues to offer robust sustainable solutions for clients, projects, and programs implemented across the globe.
